BokusenouWhat's the longest you've seen? The longest I've watched so far is one piece up to episode 660. Before watching these long anime's, the longest I had seen was hikaru no go at 75.

魔 I think it's Yuu Yuu Hakusho (112 episodes), although if I ever get to finishing Legend of the Galactic Heroes (150 or so episodes) then that will beat YYH's record. Wow, up to episode 660? I'd definitely get overwhelmed at the thought of trying something that long, and that's still ongoing.

My longest would have to be Sailor Moon which ended at 200. No wait, I think Reborn! ended at 203, so my longest is Reborn! followed by Sailor Moon.

Wow, up to episode 660? I'd definitely get overwhelmed at the thought of trying something that long, and that's still ongoing. Tell me about it! I'm not even going to kid myself that I'll be able to watch the whole thing. I'm already a little bored of the series, and am still just in the 20s. I think I'd prefer dipping into it now and then than trying to watch the whole thing one episode at a time. I'm waiting for them to edit the series down like they did with dragon ball z! That said, I still find the concept cool and love how derpy Luffy is.. his voice and innocent optimism always make me smile. Anyone care that naruto ended? That was pretty long running right?

I don't think it's ended. Naruto went up to 220, then became Naruto shippuuden. That's at 385 episodes and still ongoing.
Bleach was cancelled when it caught up to the manga. They might make an anime again when the manga is finished.

Well, they DID announce a spin off series so yeah, Naruto will continue in a sense. Still, I assumed long-term fans might be feeling at least a little sentimental that the official 'end' is so close. Of course, as it's the manga that is ending this month, I guess it will take the animated series a little while to catch up maybe.

Naruto would probably have been my favourite anime if not for all the filler episodes. Naruto had 91 (41%) fillers out of 220 episodes Episode 142 - 219 were all fillers! (that was hell to get through, I didn't know when they were going to end) linknaruto shippuden has 144 fillers out of 385 episodes link
It's probably more enjoyable to skip all the fillers. Some were ok, others near unbearable to watch. This site also lists Bleach as having 161 (45%) fillers. But that's bullshit. What bleach had were more like "filler arcs". Most of those fillers in a row were storylines, maybe unrelated to the main story. But still a storyline and enjoyable to watch. # Naruto fillers were mainly random half assed episodes all separate from each other.

I've watched YuYu Hakusho, Sailor Moon, Yugioh, and DBZ, all of which is around 200 episodes, and Prince of Tennis which was like 180 plus a crapload of OVAs and a movie (my favorite show of all time for some reason, and I've seen it like twice xD)
My husband Andrew watches Naruto and Bleach, and he's told me I should watch Bleach (which I started once upon a time) but skip the filler arcs haha. One Piece is 660 episodes? Yeesh I don't know how something can even go on that long but I guess Case Closed is too.

So is anyone else looking forward to Durarara!! season two or is it just me? (;´∀`) It's one of JP's favourite series so I imagine he is! He has the manga as well as the anime. I saw a few episodes and it seemed like something I could watch eventually. Actually, I've been thinking about why I struggle to find anime I like and I think I've just never been able to capture that same magic that I felt while watching Welcome to the NHK. I think the feeling wasn't from the anime itself, but because there were other things going on in my life at that time.. like the long distance relationship I was in. I started watching anime to impress that guy, and chose Welcome to the NHK because it was set in Ikuta. Watching it not only brought back happy memories, but also made me feel closer to my boyfriend, because he was watching it too.. he made me a CD of the soundtrack and even today, when I feel nothing but indifference towards that person, I get a whole mixture of emotions when I hear those songs. Oddly enough, pokemon too has a similar story. I got into it because before I broke up with my first girlfriend, we'd had a short break. There was a night when we stood together by the river and talked about everything.. she was quiet while I spoke, and was fiddling with a pokemon keychain. We made up, but months later broke up for good and she moved out. It was a painful time for me, and that's when I started collecting pokemon memorabilia. It reminded me of her, and somehow filled the hole she'd left. Of course, I declared to the world that I'd move to Japan one day and become a pokemon master then too (a joke that ended up in me developing a life-long love for Japanese, as you can see! Lol). So.. I think it's hard for me to get into other anime series because nothing has the emotional connections that those series do. I'm trying to find something that a show on its own just can't provide. It was never anime itself that was to blame for that...

I spoke to JP about durarara! We're pulling a late one tomorrow to see how much of the first series I can cram.. then we can watch the new series together as it comes out. There's something reminiscient of the art style if Welcome to the NHK. We checked and they don't seem to be in any way connected though*. It's the angular/sketchy style, the shadowy faces and general atmosphere I think. I keep expecting a little alien to jump out at yell 'inbou!!' at any moment! ^^
*or is this just what they want us to think... I smell a conspiracy...

Haha, I still need to finish the first season so I can start the second. I stopped like three or four episodes before the end, off memory. Oops.
Let me know what you think of it and who your favourite characters end up being? ♥

I'm watching Durarara season 2 as well. The only character I really liked from the first season was Celty (maybe I got my hopes up too much because of watching Baccano first), but as long as she keeps showing up I'll keep watching. ^-^

Celty♥ My favourite's always been Mikado. Has Aoba been introduced yet? Cause I really wanna see Aoba~~ Is Baccano better? I keep seeing it get recommended, but I've never seen it.
