You have such amazing work Denny, I'm super impressed!! (°o°;) Actually, I find that "lineless" art is very difficult to do (at least it is for me!), and I'm always jealous of artists when I see work of this quality! I mean, your work looks so professional! I especially love how you did Superman's hair with the slight brown gradient, and also your various designs at the bottom (that seagull is so adorable♡)! Very very impressed!! I'd really love to see our Gaiwachan logo in your style someday! I'd love to feature it up on the site!! Thank you for the compliment, I'm really flattered. Creating a graphic object without outline is indeed a difficult thing to do. Since it doesn't have outline as the border to differ the depth of each object layer, you will find yourself frustrated easily to add the right shading composition by finding the right color tone for each object. While on the other side, I'm also jealous with artists who can create amazing line art artwork. It's an honor to create Gaiwachan logo. I'll post it here as soon as possible when it finish. I love the way you create the girl in the portrait. She is kinda reminds me of Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite, especially when you make her hair color more dark-brown. I'm looking forward for your another artworks

simplydenny how long does it take you to create one graphic? For me, I'll be working for hours―for several days!―on one piece! Sometimes I'll start working when I get home from school at 4pm, and when I look up at the window the sun is down and it's already 11:00/midnight. (T____T)
And thank you for the compliments! You know, I actually have the concept art for BioShock Infinite Elizabeth saved on my computer, hahah! Those concepts really inspired some of my artwork in the past. ★ And oh wow, that's really nice of you! I'm really looking forward to seeing Gaiwachan in your style♪!!

LittleGaijin it depends on the artwork complexity. The longest artwork I've ever made was took about one week. 3 days for brainstorming (I was not in a good mood to draw back then, haha) and the rest for finishing all of the required graphic elements. But since I already "retired" making complex-artwork (or maybe I was just too lazy ;p), now I'm focusing on making simple illustration (That's also the reason why my nickname was simplydenny). Now it takes about 3-4 hours to create one simple illustration. I bet you're also love to play video game since you knew who Elizabeth was . Do you have a link to your Elizabeth-inspired artwork? I'd love to see it *grin*.

simplydenny 3-4 hours, not bad! Wish I could work like that! I usually spend way too much time on the little details, sometimes just the face can take me 1-2 days to finish . I want my style to look a little more paint-y though, and I also want to spend less time on every piece. Need to work on getting faster I guess! Yeah, I can find the Elizabeth concept art real quick! These aren't mine, but these pictures really inspired my artwork when I was first starting out with digital art. Here's one, two, and three. (And yes, I love video games! My ultimate favorites recently are Harvest Moon, Elder Scrolls, and Star Wars: the Old Republic!) ★ But if you want to see my work, I have Deviantart and Tumblr!

LittleGaijin Yeah, to be able to work fast is necessary especially if you're working for clients. But don't let the deadline limits your creativity to create more details on your artworks. I always ensure my clients that my works can be better if they give me more time to polish it. And fortunately most of my clients understand it. Haha! Wow! You have a great taste as a gamer. Harvest Moon? So nostalgic... I wonder what's my "son" & "wife" are doing now. I've already abandoned them for 5-6 years(?) LOL. p.s.: Already added you to my Deviant watch list, just in case I need to find some inspirations.

Yayy! I love art! I was always creative when I was a kid but I wasn't actually very good at my own until 8th grade-ish. Otherwise I could copy like a printer (not trace, I quit that in the 7th grade due to feeling extremely guilty about accidentally taking credit for copying and not tracing) I am extremely appreciate of my junior and senior high school art teacher (small school in a small town hehe) for pushing and pushing and pushing me on projects and joining the art team. She also pushed me to paint in the 9th grade which I had always wanted to do but didn't have the confidence for. Now I'm starting to seriously photoshop paint (which I just lost my first serious attempt, I'm so sad! Lost back ups of my back ups!) I also finally got a nice camera and can start the photography shoots I've always wanted!!! Photo: Watercolor Painting: Chibi pencil drawing of me and my friends at a picnic : First real attempt at using prismacolor markers!: I took a hiatus from after high school cuz I just wasn't motivated at all and I got rusty and behind but I'm catching up! I'd like to self publish (or regular publish---eeek scary!) a manga but that'd take a few more years of practicing haha. I'm still debating on majoring in art or Japanese at TUJ. Omg omg omg I'm also writing a book off of a really cool dream I had!! (I almost feel like I can't take credit for it haha) And I've got like...an outline and ten pages of a rough draft....it'll get there someday..? haha. princessesdontwaver.deviantart.com/JAPAN IS THE BEST PLACE FOR ART!

Another art update! I've been playing around with SAI lately, and finally getting the hang of things! This program makes doing line-art ridiculously easy; I don't even know how I've survived all these years without it... Oh my gosh, that is thee cutest thing I've ever seen. Also I know SAI is everyone's favorite besides PS but is it really that much easier with lines? I downloaded it on an old computer once before PS so I couldn't figure it out and didn't really use it. I'll probably download it again soon after losing my PS painting, I was so sad, especially cuz the lines took me FOREVER. My poor, poor baby! Also, I got a lot farther than this picture shows. I had almost all solid 1st colors, and the highlights and the chains and rose and bow and stuff AND the background (which had a super cool effect by the way) I spent like 10 hours on it? Oh well every digital artist runs into this problem, at least I learned a lot! at least I still have the original sketch hahaha

Princess I like your art. Is that Umineko characters I see? I watched the anime a while ago and liked it. Recently I've been playing the visual novel and I'm really getting into it!

simplydenny how do you find your clients?? Commissions online? (And hahah! Yeah I've abandoned so many of my Harvest Moon husbands... whoopsies! Eheheh.)
Princess you have such cute art, and oh wow that photo is so extremely beautiful! Reminds me of scenes from a Jane Austin movie, haha. You took this photo?? Are you bringing your nice camera to Japan next year? (Also, I love how you color your art! Especially with the prismacolors color markers! So detailed; I love all the small details and textures in the clothes! Are prismacolors more expensive than copic markers?)
Adding you both on Deviantart now!!

Oh my gosh, that is thee cutest thing I've ever seen. Also I know SAI is everyone's favorite besides PS but is it really that much easier with lines? I downloaded it on an old computer once before PS so I couldn't figure it out and didn't really use it. Oh thank you! c: SAI is pretty cool, I mainly just use it for lining though to be honest. I sketch a picture on paper traditionally, take a picture of it (I used to scan them before coming to Japan), and then I'll pop it into SAI and start lining. Lining is all point and click, and I rarely use my tablet to do it. The lines are so smooth, and you can edit different parts of every line after you're finished! There's a "curve line tool" that I use the most, and all I have to do is click different points on top of my sketch, and it practically lines itself!! (This is tougher to explain than I thought, ahahah.)
After that, I save it as a PSD file and start coloring on PS. That derpy chibi was made entirely with SAI, but that was the only time I ever used SAI to color anything. I understand how to do it a little bit, but SAI is more suited for anime-style art so it's harder for me to do skin textures or realism on it. (U____U)

Bokusenou: Yes Umineko! haha, she's Beatrice, it's my friends' favorite anime along with Higurashi. It's pretty interesting albeit a little extra gory but since it's anime I can usually handle it. Having said that I haven't finished it yet but I heard the visual novels are amazing!
LittleGaijin: Thank you ahhh, I've always been so upset at my work, mostly cuz I know I don't put the amount of time and patience in that I know I could....but I've been getting better! xD Yes I took those photos and I'm so happy! We finally got our camera that we wanted and I've always wanted to do photography for fun! We're definitely bringing it to Japan, I want to do a really cool Jvlogging channel that covers a lot of ground that others maybe haven't. I love the girl jvloggers but they do a lot of food videos, which is inapplicable to others who aren't in Japan ha. Prismacolors are actually cheaper than copic markers! I'd really like copics, they're the top brand, about $7 a marker while prismacolor is $4 or $3 on a good sale!
and ahhh, I get what you're saying! So it's not about drawing the line but point by point guiding it along a path of what kind of shape you want it to be? I think that's a little like Adobe Illustrator, where it's all about vectors and stuff:3 It sounds as precise as I want it to be and since I have to redo Beatrice that sounds like that road I want to take!!!
Note: I cannot for the life of me figure out how to tag people without quoting them ahah.

Princess, you can tag people by typing their username with "@" in front (no spaces)! Don't be upset with your artwork, it's so good!! And it would be so cool if we could collaborate and make a few videos together when you get here. c: We could even feature some of your pictures of Japan on the Gaiwa homepage! Your photography is so stunning! (Oh, now I want prismacolor markers!!) Well, you can draw the lines if you want! I do it sometimes, and I have a setting where it smooths out all my strokes because my hand can be really shaky, and this little idiot forgot to install the pen pressure CD that came with my tablet...eheh...and threw away the CD thinking it was just a dumb instruction on how to use the tablet...eheh... But for me, 4/5 of the time, the point-by-point (click) line tool works best for me!

Princess Yeah, the anime's pretty good! Although I'll warm you it ends kind of confusingly, in a ploy to get people to read the VNs or manga, maybe? I think Beatrice is my favorite character.^^ Have you heard Beatrice's character song, "Chain"? It's better than I expected.
