Yay, glad to see this thread more active!
Let's see... Daijisen has:
And if we go to
So the word can mean "To have one's expression soften. To smile", or "To not be able to hide previously hidden feelings or matters, and have them come out into the open", among other things. I've only every seen this word in novels as part of 口許がほころぶ, but I get the same sense as Jembru that it's semi-unconsciously happening in this case, though I could be wrong.
The next line is really short, so I'll let the next person have it.

Thanks for posting the next page and clearing up the exciting new grammar Rin. I forgot how educational these translation threads are. I can't wait to join in with the other one again. I've just missed so much that I need a good sit down to go over the story so far because I found last time that missing part of the story affects how I translate. Plus, I need to refresh my memory of all that weird fantasy vocab!
From the quotes you posted then, I think D's lang-8 friend might have got their English slightly wrong. Instead of 'can't stop smiling' (as in, 微笑みが止まらない), I guess they meant 'can't help smiling' (微笑まずにいられない)?
Erm, well.. I could take the next 2 lines I guess? I'll use 'translators licence' and make my translation into a single sentence!
I had no reason to be at school once classes were over, so I'd just head home with both hands tucked into my pockets, eyes to the ground.

Jembru You can take more than one sentence, so you don't really need to combine any, unless you want to. While being swayed by the bus, I absentmindedly gazed at them.
