I'd never have gotten that one!
Btw, I haven't signed up yet, but I took a look at that website. It looks pretty interesting actually. I'd have loved that when I was still using Japanese for busy People..
Wait, I forgot to check if it covers Nihongo somatome.. Well either way, I'll take a look at the N3 and N2 resources while I'm on annual leave next week.

As frustrating as it is to have a word on the tip of your tongue like that, I bet it's a great way of making sure you never forget them again! I got it wrong too btw! I was yelling 'mannenPITSU', (it was one of the words I added for writing practice, so I just knew the kanji). So we both learnt something from the experience ^^. Isn't it weird that it's even on the JLPT anyway? I mean, don't the Japanese usually just say 'pen'? I think the original JLPT vocabulary list was made in the 80s when the test was first created, although technically with the switch to the "N__" levels there's no official vocabulary list anymore, I still passed the tests by studying the old lists. A few of the words were a little dated though. I remember I needed to google what a "telex" was, and then included the definition and a photo of one on the Anki card so I wouldn't forget, just in case it ever appeared on the test (it didn't).

Oh that explains why cassette player and record show up on these lists. Also.. what IS a telex?

4 down: Attend
OMG that's hilarious. I just cheated and read ahead (sorry). 16 across has got to be 'sit' right? Lol
(For those who can't read it, it says 'it's a simple verb, but if you slightly mispronounce it, it becomes a rude word').
Coke and fork have too many letters ^^

Apparently it's: an international system of telegraphy with printed messages transmitted and received by teleprinters using the public telecommunications network. Woooow, these are super old; kind of cool, but super old lol

I'd honestly never heard of these things. It shows how old the JLPT is though.

I added 21 across as year and 13 as violet. 13 down was 5 letters, so violet wouldn't fit. I googled violet and Lilac came up.

And sit still fits! Phew ^^ Woah, we're almost done. I was going to take another but I guess I had two today already and it's going to be so sad when it's all done. Maybe LittleGaijin could keep an eye out for a book of simple crosswords in the 100 yen stores for us though. btw, do you have the answers anywhere, or were they printed in a different issue? Not that I think we're wrong, but it would be nice to check. When I do crosswords I almost always have at least one wrong word that still somehow fit. Also.. why is your stomach a little man Demonhead? Is he the personification of your 別腹, sitting on your shoulder whispering, 'go on son, you can handle one more pudding..' lol

I don't have the answers to this one. It's a weekly magazine, I think the next weeks issue of each has the answers to the previous. They probably still do the magazine, but I haven't been to the Japan centre for ages now.
I didn't put too much thought into the little man(do you recognise him?). I just saw his fat stomach and thought the kanji would fit nicely there. The little devil on a shoulder image crossed my mind as I was placing him there though.

I'm pretty sure if anyone said that to me today I would think they were nuts, but maybe the word might be useful for watching period dramas or something... Also, wow, the crossword puzzle's almost done!

The little devil on a shoulder image crossed my mind as I was placing him there though. Oh! I don't know why but I didn't see him like that. I saw a little man standing on a globe (He had no body and just little flat clown feet.. can you see it now?). That makes way more sense then ^^ Recognise?.. it's hard to see, but it looks like it could be Luffy. Ah, I can't resist taking another one. I'm afraid I was naughty and finished it yesterday. I was only looking at the clues one at a time before, but was really curious to see if we were going to get stuck on any (and yeah, I was just procrastinating.. I wouldn't say I stuck to my study plan VERY well yesterday^^). I'll take 12 across: REM ♪~♪~Lalalala loosing my religion...♪~♪~
