Oh! Really fun idea!! Thank you for this! Are the answers Kana only, or do they include Kanji?

Oh! Really fun idea!! Thank you for this! Are the answers Kana only, or do they include Kanji? From the title, I think the answers are in English: 「英国・英語力」パズルでチェック! 英国雑学クロスワード「英クロ」 Check your UK/English (knowledge) with this puzzle! UK Trivia Crossword (English crossword). So how do we do this? Do we give you the answer and you'll edit it onto the image? I'm a little shy, not about my Japanese, but in case I can't do the UK trivia. That'd be soo embarrassing.

OMG This is soo hard. I really don't know any of this kind of trivia. I'll have to ask JP when he comes home and see if he can answer any if I translate for him. Gonna take a wild stab at 2 down (I foolishly thought a short one would be easier) and go for BNC (Brasenose College). There are dozens of 'old colleges' though, so until someone gives us 8 or 10 across, I can't be sure. I suck at crosswords ^^ If anyone cares to help with 8 or 10 across I've even translated for you (or attempted to ); 8)「温床」という意味もあるんですよ。Also means 'a hot bed'. (What the heck is a hotbed?) 10) おしゃべりな人たちをこのように表現します。An expression used to describe talkative people. (chatterbox doesn't fit, I checked).Hmm.. actually, BNC can't be right can it. Whatever 10 across is, it can't start with 'CC'. Okay, I give up. Anyone fancy some spot the difference? Snap? Pin the tail to the donkey? ^^ EDIT: Wait.. 'Chatty!!' 10 across must be 'chatty'. So maybe 2 down is 'SEH' (St.Edmund Hall; the oldest college still in use at Oxford!). Thanks Google!

Ah! I feel so stupid! Totally skipped over the title box at the top left, like I do with all things LOL. I think I have two answers though, I'll share tomorrow! Thanks Jembru!! I've been skimming through all the new posts here and there since leaving for the Philippines, and I didn't look it over too well haha! Edit: good grief, there's even an example. God I'm an idiot. ; )

No worries! I didn't notice that one had been filled in either. When I wrote that message, I was going off the image on the post and was just looking at the title. It wasn't until I started trying to read the clues, that I clicked on the image. I still can't read them well, it hurts my eyes even with my glasses on (I need to count stokes because as you know, I can't read very well), so I haven't read them all yet. I found another answer though! I hope I haven't stolen one of yours. 14 across is 'DE'. I didn't have to cheat and google the answer for this one either! Okay, I'll move over and let others have a go now. Otherwise there'll be no short answers left!

LOL thank you for leaving me some short answers Jembru! 15 down is "es"! 15縦は「es」だよ! 6 down is "us" I believe! 6横は「us」だと思うよ! そのクロースワードはちょっと大変だね。色んな国のことについてよく分かんないww。

Ah, this looks fun! Great idea 魔! I'm not great at crosswords, and most of my knowledge of the UK comes from Monty Python, Harry Potter, and Dickens. In other words, not terribly great sources for factual knowledge, but hey, I can use Google if I need to. I'm on my phone now, and it's not letting me view the full size image, but I'll try this out on my computer sometime.

That's awesome! Does it do vocabulary from other levels?
As frustrating as it is to have a word on the tip of your tongue like that, I bet it's a great way of making sure you never forget them again! I got it wrong too btw! I was yelling 'mannenPITSU', (it was one of the words I added for writing practice, so I just knew the kanji). So we both learnt something from the experience ^^. Isn't it weird that it's even on the JLPT anyway? I mean, don't the Japanese usually just say 'pen'?
Thanks for reminding us about the crossword actually. Hopefully more will join in now that we have a few more active members. As usual, I had to cheat because I wasn't following the selection (is that even what they call it?) for the Olympics. But thanks to the power of the Internet, I have an answer for 1 across now...

It goes up to N1. There's hiragana and Kanji crosswords with either English or Kanji clues. It's free to make an account. They give free accounts 1 crossword a month for each section, so 18 free crosswords a month. I did 3 down. The answer was tsar
