They look awesome! Did you put them up yourself? I suck at DYI. I tried to put up some glass shelves in the bathroom but they're not very straight and they wobble. lol

Today I watched "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" movie by Studio Ghibli! It was a little sad, but I liked it.

どんな話?(ネタばれしないようにね) Is there even such a thing as a cheerful movie when it comes to gibli? ^^ I don't know anything about that movie. What's it like (without giving anything away of course! )

That's true! It was pretty faithful to the original story, and the art style was like something out of a ukiyoe painting, so it was very beautiful to watch. I hope it wins an Oscar. Nothing else from Japan was even nominated...

Today I went to a baby shower. Everyone invited was from the group for Japanese people I'm part of, so the whole thing was in Japanese. It was also my first time going to a baby shower, and it was lots of fun!

Everyone invited was from the group for Japanese people I'm part of, so the whole thing was in Japanese. It was also my first time going to a baby shower, and it was lots of fun! Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about the baby shower! I'm glad it went well. Informal events like that are great for your confidence aren't they? Our conversation group finally has a fixed day too. So for the last few weeks we've gotten together every Wednesday without fail. Even though it's only once a week, I've already noticed an improvement in my Japanese. I guess that's probably my good thing!

Actually, it looks normal sized to me. That makes me wonder if the dozens of photos I've posted look big to some people. Eek.
Btw, remember the bathroom shelves I mentioned here? Well I finally stopped them wobbling! My mum bought me a new screwdriver and it was long enough to tighten the screws. I was so pleased. You can like, put stuff on it and everything. Like a normal shelf!

Today I think I've gotten hooked on the Lord of the Rings audiobook.^-^ I quit the book halfway, and fell asleep through the movies, but somehow I'm really getting into the audiobook, and it's been a fun adventure story so far. Maybe when I'm done with the audiobooks I'll look up info on the Japanese edition.

Is that Lord of the Rings in Japanese? That's cool. I couldn't even read the English version start to finish! I've only read the the bits with Smeagol in. When I was a student I was a huge fan, infact no, I was practically obsessed with Smeagol. So one of my friends painstakingly underlined every line he appears in for me!
It's not that I don't want to read it, but Tolkein's descriptions are so detailed that it's hard to keep reading. I don't know if an audio book would be any better.
Today's good thing is that I went swimming with JP before work. The pool is close enough to the house that we can go even on nights I've got work. Tonight maked it 4 weeks in a row. That's a record for us!

Oh, I'm listening to it in English, but when I finish, I think I'm going to try to find a Japanese version. I looked a bit, but what I found were mostly just videos of the movies I found a playthrough vid of the video games, which includes a lot of subtitled scenes. It has lots of spoilers for parts I haven't read yet, so I don't want to really watch them yet. Smeagol's near! It's a shame he hasn't shown up much in the parts I've read. Yeah, it's kind of hard to read, but for some reason I found it much easier to listen to, especially after I got past the prologue. I've been listening on youtube. I searched for an audiobook of the Japanese version, but I guess the books aren't as popular in Japan. A pool? So lucky... The one around here is too pricey to go to.
