Hello, I haven't posted anything on Gengo No Tabi in a while. I just posted another Ryan Sensei phrase lesson. It is another phrase for initiating conversation with a Japanese speaker you have just met. Please swing by and say hello, it is nice to hear comments and recieve support from your fellow language students (aka pilgrim) I need to practice speaking Japanese

Great video as usual! I bet this will be really useful for beginners and such. It'll probably surprise Japanese people too, who won't expect to hear keigo from a foreigner!

Really good video as usual, Wes! I have to update my channel... I've been not posting much for a while because of school, I still need to finish remaking beginner lessons and update the intermediate lesson channel and do a vlog. Oh geez.

Hello Gaiwajin, I have not been doing much with Gengo No Tabi lately. Partly because I need all my time to study. I also have found some great YT channels that make me feel like the variety of lessons I do are less necessary than they were at other times. However, there are always people who want me to do video projects and I am working with Ryan Boundless right now. He has taught English in Japan for 15 years now. So I made an ad for his small secondary channel that features language lessons. We are going to post some lessons soon, like the one we just put up, that are unique and so I thought merit the work required. So I made this silly ad because it was an idea that popped into my head and I had to produce it and see how it played. I hope someone will get a kick out of it, and no one will be offended by it. If you are a beginner who is a bit long in the tooth than follow the link and view our videos and give us your thoughts. Thanks www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqVPBunwMpQ&list=UUntGq9RGSbNEsLqMTenq-vg

That's a fun video idea, and the Eternal Blossom Rising channel looks good too! How did you think of the name?

I don't think I ever asked Ryan what the name is about....wait, I might have. It might be a video game thing. I know nothing about video games unless they have kana or Kanji in them. : ) It is Ryans channel he has a main channel that is very successful, but his second channel (language channel) has about the same number of subs as my language channel. I serve the same roll on both channels, I am a host. People who are native or fluent Japanese speakers are the Sensei. When it come to producing videos it is often easiest to have the editor host, that way when he needs a bit of dialogue to bring things together or clarify something he doesn't need to try and get people to do things. He can just fire up the lights and camera and shoot and then get back to post production. If anyone ever has lesson ideas or wants to be part of productions, or wants to produce a particular thing, I am usually on board for collaboration. I think Gaiwa should have a jiko shoukai thread where people record their personal introductions and post them and then people can comment, ask questions, or post their own. Just a thought. I did a Jiko shoukai for King Trombaly. I think it was Yes Japan #73 or #74.... Anyhow, thanks for the compliment.

Ah, OK. I don't know much about video games either. I love the whole idea of the promo video though! Some Japanese learners really do need a little motivation to learn things.
A jiko shoukai thread is a good idea! The last time we had something like that (the "answer the question" audio/video response thread), it wasn't very popular because I think most people were too shy to try it, but maybe a jiko shoukai thread would turn out better.
You were on Yes Japan? Wow, I used to watch their videos a lot when I was starting out! I'd search for Yes Japan episodes on video sites. That really takes me back... I wonder if I can find a video of the episode you were in...

I'd be up for that.. so long as I don't have to go first. As you know, I've done this kind of thing in the past, and I usually end up feeling like the only kid in the class who turned their desk around before the teacher walked in... Well, in gaiwa's case, it was me and Rin together being the class pranksters, but you know what I mean.. or do you?...
