Does anyone else have a problem inputting certain words? My input doesn't like the word ポケモン for example. If I type it using direct input on google translate (this is how I type when I'm on the work computer that doesn't have script), it works fine, but on my own system it just won't do it.
What really, really riles me however, is that it won't let me type 通り(とおり/どおり). It just gives me a bunch of jukugo, such as 徒折. I wondered if it wanted me to type it as とうり so I tried that, in which case I get 東リ or 党利. This is a pretty common word. I think I've ended up needing it in just about every conversation I've had, but everytime I come to it, it takes me ages to write my reply because of this stupid word. I discovered it lets me type 通る at least, but I still have to delete the る and change it to り. I guess when I'm using it in phrases like 意味がとおり, I would get away with leaving it as hiragana. Half the time words like おもう end up being left in hiragana when I'm text-chatting anyway, so it's no biggie. It's damned annoying all the same though.
What am I doing wrong? Does anyone else have this issue or is it just me? It's not just this word, but I guess if I can solve this one, the others will be resolved too. Oh and I should add that like ポケモン (or ポ毛門, as my input seems to think I mean), Google translate lets me input this word without any issues.
Additional information;
My input system won't allow me to input hearts either. I can only do stars ☆ ★ I don't know if that gives any clues to whats going on.
