Hey, does anyone here use imabi? And if so, how?
I have no idea how to study grammar at all, by the way. However, I learned a decent amount of other stuff in the beginner level, so I don't want to leave the grammar behind.

Imabi is very dense in terms of linguistic explanations and terminology so it's good if that's something you find helpful.
I've looked at the site previously but I can't say they're the best English writer and the explanations seem a bit long-winded.

Maybe it's improved since then, but I remember people on another forum pointing out mistakes in that site's Japanese, as well as how to improve the English, and the site author got really nasty. Ah, found the thread. Maybe he's corrected all the mistakes by now, but I'm still kind of wary about recommending his site as a resource.

I'd never even heard of the site, but having looked into it, it seems that Chocopie and Rin aren't alone in being suspicious of the site. Personally, I just prefer not to learn from non-native speakers. I love learning with other learners, and getting feedback and advice from them, but it's not the same as taking lessons from someone who doesn't speak the language as a native*. I know there ARE great Japanese speakers in the world, but I've just come by way too many people who just think they know Japanese well enough to teach it.
*The exception being if I were studying to pass an exam. So for example, learning how to pass the JLPT, from someone who already passed it, or studying for a GCSE. I know a native speaking German teacher who teaches in UK schools, and she says she has to teach incorrect grammar to kids, because the 'correct' answers on the exam are wrong.. So I'd be willing to put my trust in anyone with detailed knowledge of what the exam board wants from me!

I'm not a native speaker of English but I've seen many spelling errors, but I can't say anything about the japanese(I'm not that advanced).
