If you have a podcast you like, tell us about it in this thread! サウンド・ライブラリーEpisodes 1-148, 148+Weekly 15 minute episodes about the daily life of 月原加奈子(つきはら かなこ) aged 38, who works at a travel agency. The episodes are about 15 minutes long and are read by actress 木村多江(きむら たえ). She speaks relatively slowly and clearly so it's good for listening practice, easy to pick out new words and also quite relaxing. There are a lot of episodes (most recent one is 201) so there's a lot to listen too! 夢★夢Engine!A weekly half hour science podcasts aimed at showing junior high students and upwards how interesting science can be. Each week they pick a different topic and talk about to an expert about it. Listeners can write in and request topics too so you get a wide range of areas covered. It's quite chatty and follows a kind of Q&A format. One of the presenters announces a question, the expert gives a little explanation and then the presenters ask further questions following on from that.

Great idea for a thread! For bi-lingual lessons, I currently only listen to japanesepod 101. I used to also follow Learn Japanese pod until they started charging. I'd have paid, but they wanted about the same as j-pod101, yet their lessons weren't as structured, their lesson notes weren't as good (basically just transcripts), and there wasn't nearly as much content, so I felt they were being unrealistic in their demands and quit. Japanese only podcasts.. I just dip in and out so don't follow any one thing. Anna recently mentioned SBS Audio and I second that. There's such a great variety of topics to choose from. There is only one other that I have bookmarked, blog.jorf.co.jp/ because depending on who's hosting, I find it harder to understand than the podcasts at sbs audio for some reason, so I like to dip in sometimes for a greater challenge (or just to completely destroy any confidence I might have had prior to that). I really like Rakugo, although finding information and especially videos of shows online isn't easy. So it was with great excitement that I sat down to listen to this episode. Unfortunately, I caught depressingly little. So I downloaded this one to listen to in 6 months or so, to see if I get much more. They talk about acting/performing a lot in these podcasts, so it's not that I don't know much vocabulary for discussing such things.. I guess I just don't know enough yet ^^ Oh and of course Japanesepod101 also has monolingual blogs. They're not very long and don't have the conversational rhythm that podcasts do, but they come with the transcript so you at least get to check things you didn't catch, so they're pretty cool. They tend to talk about daily life and pretty interesting topics, so I enjoy listening to them while I'm pottering about at work sometimes.

鈴木敏夫のジブリ汗まみれ Studio Ghibli news. Has interesting interviewees sometimes. そこあに Anime podcast, reactions to the currently airing series in Japan. Fanta Jikan Children's stories read aloud, lots of 宮沢賢治. キノキャスト Podcast by the Kinokuniya bookstore chain, good for seeing what new books are coming out.

Bokusenou, I just went to the そこあに website and saw the trailer for Captain Earth. For some reason I misread 'Earth' as 'Planet' and was expecting a Captain Planet remake... I'm so glad it wasn't because Captain Earth looks pretty interesting!

I'm so glad it wasn't because Captain Earth looks pretty interesting! Lol, you're not the only one! I've been seeing people note the similarity in Spring anime preview posts. The new anime season starts this week, so there'll be lots of stuff about the new shows on そこあに and the like.

I recommended Hotcast on a different thread and realised I should probably put it here too. It's a half hour chat and is broadcast each Thursday. - It covers a broad range of general topics.
- The female presenter speaks extremely clearly and quite slowly.
- The website allows you to look at episodes by genre (if you like food, they have a LOT on food, cooking, curry, restaurants, home cooking etc.).
- On the website each podcast has a couple of paragraphs introducing it which will help with key words.
