Good luck Jacob!
On a related note to the original topic, does anyone know any good DS games? Especially ones with a Japanese version?
I've never played a video game before (unless visual novels and the occasional browser rpg count, but I don't think they do), but I found a DS games emulator app while searching through the android app store, and kind of want to test it out.

Well, Harvest Moon (牧場物語) is an amazing game to practice reading Japanese conversations! I am a huge HM fan, and have been playing all the games since I was 5-6 years old. I've never gotten hold of a Japanese version yet, but I read the Japanese websites for walkthroughs. I see the screenshots from the Japanese versions, and it's very nice to read! I'll link you the the official website of the newest game in the series that I'm really looking forward to! (牧場物語 つながる新天地) Anyone else have some awesome 3DS games to share?

LittleGaijin Thanks! The site which has nds games I found had a ton of Bokujou Monogatari games. I just picked one, "Youkoso! Kaze no Bazaar e". I started playing it even though I had a bad experience with a farm game in the past (Sunshine Bokujou, the mixi equivalent of Farmville, which I got completely bored of after a week or so) and all the characters and stuff look really cute^^ I like that it looks like there is a lot of focus on the characters, so it's not all farming. Unfortunately the only emulator app I found which plays sound smoothly is a demo of a paid app, which only lets me play for 30 minutes at a time, and has the save function disabled. I think I'll wait until I've earned enough free google play store credit from the google rewards app I installed, and then buy the paid version. 30min is enough to get a taste of what a game is like though. I also put a few more nds games on my phone which looked interesting, one being Ni no Kuni, which was apparently worked on by Studio Ghibli, so the animation looks amazing. It feels like they made a Ghibli movie into a game. Anyone else tried it?

Here's a site I've had in my bookmarks. link
It gives information on save types and other details + has screenshots and covers for the games.

牧場物語:ようこそ!風のバザールへ?I have that one! I wasn't very impressed though, because it's not very traditional to all the other Harvest Moon games out there! I really recommend Mineral Town (ミネラルタウンのなかまたち), and A New Beginning (はじまりの大地) though. Especially "A Wonderful Life" and "Another Wonderful Life" if you can find it! And don't worry, I'm not into farming so much either. I mainly like progressing the character relationships, updating the house and properties, or finding rare items. I was able to avoid farming in all these games! With Bazaar, it's a little hard to do that... 魔 oooooh Fifa Soccer 13, now you're talkin'! I might give that one a try!

OK, I'll switch it out with a better one then^^ Thanks for the recommendations! Hmm, the A Wonderful Life file is 1.2gb & is for GameCube. It looks like there aren't any good GameCube emulators for android, though there are ones for PC. 1.2gb takes a long time to download, so maybe I'll start with one of the smaller ones... A New Beginning is 500mb, and for the 3DS, which also only has emulators for PC... Mineral Town is 3mb, for Game Boy Advance. The free android GBA emulators look like don't have the 30mins only thing the DS emulator has. So I think I'll start with that one. It looks really cute and retro.^^

Ohhh do you know of good browser rpgs ?? Hmm, I haven't played them a lot since before I went to college, so some might have changed, but I'll list some I liked: English:
Japanese:
- まじかるブラゲ学院 was pretty cool, mostly for pulling off 3d animation in a browser game.
- Appirits' games tended to be good from what I remember
- Whatever I found from Googling ブラゲrpg or ブラウザゲームrpgXD
Most of the games I played look like they died off, so sorry the list isn't longer.

Are there any browser RPGs similar to Harvest Moon? Or maybe even some similar for the GBA (Game Boy Advance)? I let my dad borrow my 3DS so that he can play his new copy of Animal Crossing, so I'm trying to order something new for myself that I can play on my new Gameboy SP! Let's go retro! ♪
(I can't find Harvest Moon: Mineral Town in Japanese for anything less than $75.00...... Pokemon Emerald is worse.)
I'm really excited to find something because I hear that Japanese GBA games can be played on any Gameboy SP! I had no idea! I'm so ready to play my first Japanese game!

I added both to my watch list, and I'm debating which one I'm gonna get now! I'm seriously gonna get one of these! Thank you so incredibly much!!
